Why does mobile videos have much less users/consumers than Internet videos?

(I am a doctoral student trying to find out why you, as an individual, are not adopting mobile videos as fast as you adopt Internet videos. Besides the physical limitation of the small mobile screen and the fee requirement for mobile TV, what else is preventing people from adopting this genre? In terms of watching Internet based videos, do you typically watch alone? Do you watch mobile video alone? Sorry seems too many questions all at one time! But I am trying to go beyond the usual answers I expect to receive. Thank you for stretching your thinking a little!)

Why does mobile videos have much less users/consumers than Internet videos?
I guess cause internet videos are free and there's a wide variation and choices, unlike with mobile phones it only stream Tv programs. that needs to be paid. also it drains the phone's battery so it wouldn't be that convenient for the user, and most phones aren't really adapted for mobile tv watching because of the reasons you have already mentioned before.

Hmmm most phones are capable to do basic operations but people bought N93 coz its marketed for its camera so does the k800, walkman phones are a craze because of its music capabilities!

Its just that no phones are currently marketed to really do an outstanding job that can really amaze people when it comes to mobile tv. though any streaming phone can do the job.

marketing is the key! its just that mobile tv hasn't really reached even 20% of what the japanese mobile tv and their phones is capable of...

I hope you can understand me ^_^
Reply:Stick to the simplest answer: mobile devices suck. Expensive, eats battery life considerably when playing back, pixelated video quality, and the screen is too small with tinny sound playback.
Reply:1.Too much bandwidth needed while the speed is very slow. Phone screens are still not the best place to watch videos (except some phones).

2. Cell phones are mostly used while you are on the move. If I am sitting at my desk (in office) or at home, why would I not watch video on my computer or tv?

3. You need a data plan for 20 dollars a month to get unlimited data. That unlimited data also is limited (5 gB) by some carriers.

4. Speed on the phones itself is not so good so frames would get lost in viewing.
