IPod Videos on 160 gb device?

I want to buy a video iPod. The prices have come down as Apple has come out with newer models like the iTouch.

Here's my issue: When i look at capabilities of the iPod it tells me all the formats of videos that it will play. I am clueless as to what these formats mean. I'd like to load some of my DVD's that I have onto my iPod. If I load the DVD onto my computer, will I be able to transfer the video from the DVD to the iPod or do I need to purchase them from iTunes?

I know that for music I can use just about any mp3...but I don't really think I need an iPod just for music as I could probably get a cheaper mp3 player that could do me just fine.

If anyone has any information on transferring videos to an iPod it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

iPod supports MP4 format, so you need to convert DVD movies to iPod video MP4 and iPod audio MP3 and M4A, and then drag them to your iPod touch, iPod classic, iPod nano players with the sync of iTunes Library, which can be downloaded on http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ for free.

Thus, you need a third party program to help you. First, you can try Handbrake, which can be downloaded from http://handbrake.m0k.org/ . It is totally free. Refer to http://www.applesource.com.au/software/h... if you have difficulty in using it.

Or if it fails to meet your needs, you can try this DVD to iPod converter, which a friend shared with me not long ago. It works great and never disappoints me.

You can go to http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/dvd-to-iP... to get detailed info about it.

Also its Mac program is available at http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/dvd-to-ip...

Reply:Limewire is a download tool I assume lot of us use. I often use it to download free music and videos and put them on my iPod. If you don’t have Limewire, you can download it from its official website.

I also often visit Youtube to watch videos and sometimes I download videos from Youtube to put on my iPod.

iPod can not support all format files. It can support MP4 format.

You can lear more from: http://www.apple.com

If the DVD is mp4 format. You can directly transfer the DVD to iPod using iTunes.

Open your iTunes, click “File” from the upper left corner, select “Add file to library”, browse your computer hard drive and find the DVD, select the songs you prefer, click OK and the video will be put in your iTunes. Then you can just transfer the DVD to your iPod from iTunes.

If the DVD is not mp4 format. You need a convert software to help you convert the DVD to MP4 format. And them transfer the video that be converted to iTunes.

I always use iskysoft DVD to iPod converter. You can download it from:
