Any Software that resizes videos?

I would like to resize my videos while keeping all other properties more or less constant. its like, i have a video 940x680, so i want to resize it such that it becomes 470x340, and thus reducing the memory size but keeping the audio and everything else constant. any freeware to do this job? every other video converter is converting between formats etc. i just want a simple video resizer. help!

Also, most of the programmes i know takes up so much space when they are saving the video, its very irritating cos it causes my comp to hang and run out of space. its there any explaination? i wanna shrink the video plainly cos i wanna save space, but most of them end up 10 times bigger in memory size!

Any Software that resizes videos?
"Windows Movie Maker" does this easily, by loading the video file into it and saving it using the "web" option. This automatically reduces the file size so that it can be uploaded to a website or emailed, or just saved to the hard-drive.
Reply:1) make sure you have a compression filter like DivX or Xvid on your system.

2) depending on the file format, you can use virtuadub (for avi's) to resize.

and you are 'resizing' to abnormal/non standard video sizes

industry uses are (in NTSC)

320x240

640x480

720x480 (DVD 4:3 ratio)

You'll have to be more specific on what you are doing; the file size you want; the compression you want; the main uses of your video and so on so forth to get more direct answers . Visit http://www.videohelp.com for more tutorials, and help
