Video capturing software that results in clear homemade videos?

I use an celeron 2.4 machine a DV cable and ulead video software and download my images from a camcorder which is only DV supported. The results aint all that. Any idea how to get the best of home made videos?

pinnacle is a good one ...but depending on ur device and settup you may need a capture card ...theyre pretty cheap these days ... check out this site ..
Reply:I'm assuming that you've viewed these videos on your television, and know for a fact that they are clear to start with. Assuming that, if you have Windows XP, try using the built-in video capturing software that comes with it. I personally don't like Ulead, either.





Of course, your processor, memory and hard drive may not be fast enough to keep up, especially if you're trying to add effects, or anything extra like that.
Reply:I have a Panasonic Camcorder. I connect it to my PC using Firewire cable. I use Windows Movie Maker. It worked great for me.





I recommend using Windows Movie Maker with Firewire cable connection.
