HOW DO I iMPORT MY VIDEOS FROM MY VIDEO CAMERA TO THE COMPUTER?
USB OR Firewire both should work.

Few troubleshooting ..

1) Check the USB streaming settings in the Camcorder if its ON. This should be ON

2) Have you installed the USB driver from the CD which came with the camcorder.

3) While connecting USB make sure that you have switched off your camcorder. Switch on ones the connection is set in place.

USB gives poor picture quality. For quality as you see in the camcorder, you should use Firewire.

Option is yours..
Reply:Mine works just fine with the software. The camera's a Samsung and the software is Ulead VideoStudio 7. This may sound dumb, but read the manual, or the help screen on your video software (if your camera came with one, if not there's many third party softwares).
Reply:read the manual of your camera.. if the package has a cd or software included. that what you need the software of your camera..
Reply:You can't transfer video from the camera to the computer via USB. You need the I.1394 (firewire) connection. Once you have that, it is very easy.
Reply:-For this process you will need a Firewire Cable (sometimes referred to as an IE 1394). This will be avaliable at most Electronics Store. For a laptop you will generally need a 4-pin (Laptop End) to 4-pin (Camera End) connector. For a Desktop it is generally a 6-pin (Desktop End) to 4-pin (Camera End).

-Once you have your camera hooked up, open a Video Editing Program on your computer. Generally Windows will come with Movie Maker (located under accesroies), or on a Mac you have IMovie.

-In either of these programs, depending on your Operating System, open the capture tool. If you have properly connected your camera, and have it turned on, in Playback Mode (VCR Mode), you should see it now on the computer.

***NOTE: It is usually best to turn plug in the camera, turn it on and put it in Playback mode before starting the capture tool in the program.

-Once you see it on the screen, you should have a button that either says record, or looks like the record button. Press this, and the camera should start playing and recording to your comptuer. If the camera does not automatically start playing, press play on it.

-Once you are finished bringing in files, hit stop on your PC. You now have these files on there, most likely in an AVI format (The Highest Quality).

-You can then edit and manipulate it however you want, and export it as a movie. To put longer movies on the internet or DVD, you will probably have to downsize it to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. This is another problem for another day.

Reply:First i need to know is it u have a Digital Camcorder or Digital Camera.

1-for the Digital Camera

you Do NOT need the Fire-Wire cable. all u need is take out the MMS, xD card or SD card from ur Digi-Camera and plug them to ur PC if ur PC dont have the Card Reader then u have to install the driver for the Digi-Camera then u can use the USB cable to connect the compu. to the Camrera

Look on "My Computer" for the Digi-Camera.

2-for the Digital Camcorder

you will NEED the Fire-Wire Cable and Program to able to transfer the video to ur PC ( usually 4 to 6 pin cable ).
